One of My Adventures Told in English

(English as apposed to a language I don't speak.) I had a rather interesting adventure last week. It was kind of sad and disappointing but at the same time it was rather funny, I kept laughing quietly to myself. Sometimes it's so horrible it's "not even funny" and other times it's so horrible that it's absolutely hilarious. This was the later, and, just so you know, "horrible" is a little exagerated.
So, a bunch of the mediumly aged and semi-athletic to athletic people from church go play volleyball on nice Sunday afternoons. My family has never gone because we're always the last person to leave church and we live in the next town and we have lunch and little kids and Mom and Dad never felt like driving us and I don't think we ever felt really invited and blah blah but now my sister has learned the fine art of driving and so things have changed.

Two weeks ago we went and got rather significantly lost so it took us about twice as long as it otherwise would to get to the park where they normally play volleyball. The GPS took us to the wrong place and we didn't really know where the right place was if what we thought was the right place really was the wrong place. We got Dad on the phone and he pulled up a map on the computer and after half an hour and major frustration on both ends we got to the right place. Of course, since we only play volleyball about once a year we all stunk. Well, I did. Kelsey didn't (as usual :P ) and I'm not sure about Heather. She was playing on the next court so I didn't really see any of her antics.

Anyway. The week after that we had a great many depressed people because we didn't go.

And the week after that --last week-- we found the park in perfect time but there was already a bunch of people from church playing in one court (it was quite full with even more people rotating in). The other court was taken over by other people whom I know not, because it was so full everyone decided to go to another park.

We followed ShortStuff, Kiwi, J.S., and Kirsten (since we didn't know where this second park was) but there was only one court available there, too. So everyone migrated to a third park. We followed Scott, he got really far ahead, we lost him, kind of guessed whether or not he turned, we guessed he turned right, and so we went down the road to the right. After looking for awhile and not seeing him and his spiffy mustang ahead we decided we'd probably taken the wrong way.

We also decided that we were lost. What else is new? :P I got out Heather's GPS and looked for the park that they'd said we were migrating too and didn't see it listed. Heath called Scott's cellphone twice (and left a message the second time). We decided we'd put the highschool with the same name in the GPS and see if the park was around there. We went and drove around (I got told the next day by Alex that the highschool is right next to the park!) but didn't see the park. From there we somehow managed to find ourselves back at the second park which is apparently right down the road from the highschool. We pulled into that parking lot and called Julie and got her answering machine. We called Mom and asked her if she had any more ideas? She suggested we call so-and-so-and-so-and-so. Neither of which was at volleyball but we figured they'd lived in that town for a long time and might know where this park was. Neither of them answer the phone. Two more answering machines added to our quota.

At that point we'd been unknowledgeable for quite some time and so gave up in the least loyal way suggested with the phrase and went home.

Let it all out
These are the things I could do without
(Yes, those lyrics are related to this post. That's all you need know.)
